I am Nele
Hi, I’m Nele, originally from Belgium, I graduated as a vet in 2002 and moved to the UK the next year with an aim to develop my small animal medicine knowledge. With over 15 years of experience in small animal referral medicine, specializing in internal medicine and oncology, I’ve walked the path of both general practitioner and specialist clinician.
My early career in primary care practice was shaped by the challenges many vets experience—limited time, minimal resources, and the absence of structured support. These experiences inspired my journey through advanced training and ultimately shaped my commitment to building an accessible, practical learning community for veterinary professionals.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of pets and their families navigate the complexities of diseases and the anxiety and concerns they cause. My approach has always been rooted in practicality and compassion—working closely with owners to develop individualized care plans that prioritize the well-being of their pets and respect their unique circumstances. I understand that gold-standard textbook approaches aren’t always possible or appropriate, and I firmly believe in balancing evidence-based treatments with real-world practicality. My focus is on providing tailored, effective care that works for both the patient and their family, and I’m passionate about sharing this philosophy with other veterinarians who face the same challenges.
